Duna is quite a small town but we walk quite a bit. We have bikes but we dont know how to get to them or where they are at the moment so we havent used them yet. We get in a lot of exercise and we also get to talk to a lot of people while we are traveling from appointment to appointment. Duna is so gorgeous! I love it here!
We have had some really awesome programs this week with amazing people! We received a referal from a missionary in Budapest -we met with her and the first thing she did was hand us the BOM that she received and told us that she wasn't really interested because she didn't understand it. We told her that we could explain it so we went to a room and taught her the restoration. It was such a good lesson! The spirit was so strong and she just started crying saying that she wanted to believe that this was true and that she felt so good. She couldn't believe how at peace she felt and said she hadn't felt that peaceful for a long time. She really wanted to meet again but unfortunately she is out of town for 2 weeks but we have kept in contact with her on the phone and she said she is reading from the BOM so hopefully our next program will go great as well!
We also taught a family this week. They are an amazing family and have been through a lot the last couple of months. The had a daughter/sister that died (they aren't sure how) a few months ago and this last friday would have been her 28th birthday. This family has been taught by the missionaries before a long time ago. They are just the greatest people and just want to find peace in their life. We are going to teach one of them again tonight and I am super excited for it! She is the funniest lady I have met and such a good cook! Hungarians here in Duna really know how to cook....and they worry a lot about sister Chamberlain and I because we DO NOT cook! haha! It is so funny to see peoples reaction when we tell them we just fix sandwiches or something for lunch and dinner. They tell us that we have to learn how to cook. We just look at each other and laugh. They cook us good meals though! I love Hungarian food!
We also met with another investigator and her family. They were tracted a few weeks ago and we met with them for the first time my first week in Duna and had a really good first lesson with them. We went back this week and gave them a BOM and talked to them about it. She has 2 children and they were asking us questions and were really interested too. Her husband also wants to know but he was away for work when we went. It was just the perfect lesson because all the commitments we were going to extend to her for that lesson, she asked us if she could do them. She asked us if she could come to church next week, if she could just start reading the BOM, if she could start praying and asking God if the things we were teaching were true. And the kids loved praying! They were so excited to tell us about their experience praying! I just love this little family! I am so excited to continue teaching them!
This week, we also met the sweetest girl who is about my age. We met her at 8:55. We were on our way home and we saw her and went and talked to her. She was really quite and didn't say much but she was listening so we talked to her and told her what we believed in. And then at the end she said she wanted to meet the next day. We met the next day and taught her the restoration and it was amazing to see the light that came into her life! She came to church- ALL of church- with us yesterday and it went so well. When we first went to pick her up she was very shy and reserved and didn't say too much. By the end of church she had opened up a lot and was talking to us, asking us all sorts of questions. When we walked her home she gave us the biggest hug and just thanked us so much for helping her. It is moments like that that words just cant describe. I love being a missionary. I have never been more happier than I have ever been in my life. I am so blessed!
This week I really realized how much I have been given and how much I have taken it for granted my whole life. So many people here have gone through so incredibly much. They are so strong! I love them so much! I just really realized how much I have been given and how much the Gospel has been my life and our family life. Yes, we have had struggles and trails, but we have been so blessed and it is because we have had the Gospel in our lives. The Gospel really does my life better - it gives people joy and happiness, it gives people light. It is so hard to explain but I have seen it so many times this week. We will go up to talk to someone and after we are done talking with them about the Gospel, you can literally see a light come into their eyes and just a difference in them. I LOVE BEING A MISSIONARY!!!!
Yesterday we had all of our programs cancel on us so we went out to street. I saw an older lady and went up to street her and she just told me that 'Im not intesterested. Im Catholic.' and then she said some other things but I didnt understand what she said so I asked her to repeat it and just stayed happy and smiled. She looked at me like something was wrong and asked me why I was so happy after she had just told me that she was Catholic and wasnt interested. We talked to her for over 45 minutes. She completely opened up to us and we told her about the BOM and she couldnt believe that she had never heard of it before and she said that it all made sense. We asked her if we could meet with her to teach more and she said no. We didnt say anything and then she said yes, she wanted to learn more but that she wasnt going to give us her number or where she lived or anything. So we were just going to meet her somewhere when all the sudden she just turned to us and said 'I cant believe I am doing this but I want you to come to my house. I want and need this book that you are talking about.' (we unfortunately didnt have a BOM on us, we just had pass along cards). So we are meeting with her this week at her house!
I just get to see so many miracles and meet so many wonderful people! I love being a missionary!!!!!! I love my life! I am so happy!
I love you all and I hope you are all doing great! I hope everyone is safe camping and that you have a fun time. Take lots of pictures for me! Love you all!

Sunsets in Duna are the prettiest!!!! |
Me and my greatest companion ever! The countryside is so pretty out here! This was my first time seeing the countryside since coming to Hungary. So pretty! |
on the other side of Duna. It is so pretty! |
and another view of Duna...well this is really the outskirts of duna. The actual part of duna is just all buildings. But these overlook the little villages outside of Duna! So cool! |
