This week has been SO busy!!!!! It has been a really great week for us but man, we are so tired! Duna is a very little city at it only takes about 45 minutes to walk across the city but when you have to keep crossing the city back and forth multiple times a day for lessons, it gets pretty exhausting! I can't remember if I already said this, but we looked for our bikes and they got stolen so we are left to good ol' fashioned walking. It gives us good exercise we just wish we didn't have to travel so much so we could get more lessons in.
Well we have 3 new people on baptisimal date for August 31!!! Wahoo!!! They are so excited!! Things are going really well for them. We are just trying to find a time that we can meet with the father also. He really wants to meet with us and we have talked to him a few times on the phone but he works a lot. They unfortunately haven't been to church yet because they all want to come together as a family so hopefully they can come next week! I just love this little family!
Also we met with another investigator this week and things have recently been going kinda slow with her. We decided to go over the baptisimal questions with her and see what she was struggling with and she told us that she believes it is all true and she wants to be baptized, she just needs to learn more and start acting. We were just grateful that she came to that conclusion on her own. So she is working hard towards baptism too which is awesome!
We also met with that investigators daughter. She is awesome! We had a good lesson with her and she is still keeping commitments. She told us that she has met with the missionaries multiple times whenever something happens in her life. It seems that whenever a problem comes into her life, the missionaries show up at her door. But she told us that it has always been elders. She said that she thinks that the sisters were sent for her. And she also told me that her little daughter, (who I am pretty much best friends with) she told me that her daughter now wants to name one of her future daughters Shantel. I just love her little daughter!
We also met with another investigator this week. She is an older lady who has been investigating for a while and she has been coming to church the last few weeks. We went to follow up on how coming to church was blessing her in her life, but before we could even ask she just told us that she couldn't believe she hadn't been coming to church earlier. She was really worried that coming to church would make her really tired so she wouldn't have energy to get the work done that she needed to. But she said that since she had been coming to church she has had more energy that she has had in a very long time. It was awesome! She said she wishes there was church more than once a week so it could keep giving her more energy! haha!
This week, as we have been teaching our investigators, I learned a lot about how it really is the small and simple things that matter. Each of our investigators are now at a point where we have taught them and now we have given them an opportunity to act, to say prayers, read the scriptures, and come to church. 3 such simple things, but vital to gaining a testimony. I was reading in Alma 37 this past week about how much the small and simple things really do lead to great and marvelous miracles. It is the simplesy things that build our testimony and it is also the simple things that we don't do that destroy our testimony. As a missionary, it is so hard to not have your investigators keep the simple commitments that you give them, especially when you know that it really is for their own good. It just reminded me of how the Savior sometimes feels about us. He has asked us to do the small and simple things so that He can bless us with even more blessings. The Gospel really is so simple but such a great blessing! I love being a missionary! I love being in Hungary! I love the people here! I love the Gospel! And I love my Savior, Jesus Christ! I know that He lives and I know that He loves us - everyone! I love you all and hope you have a wonderful week!
